Osaka University Yukawa Memorial was inaugurated in November 1953. At the time of the establishment, it was located in the former building of Osaka University Headquarter. On November 3, 1976, Osaka University President Tetsuo Wakatsuki reestablished Yukawa Memorial in the main building of Osaka University Library to pay respect to Yukawa’s achievements and to provide a place of profound thinking in fundamental science. The plate describing the background of the establishment of Yukawa Memorial is posted in Osaka University Yukawa Memorial. Accompanied is the writing, “Founding and Development of Osaka University,” by Junjiro Kanamori.
