Decay of the U particle (Note by S. Sakata)

In this note, Shoichi Sakata summarized the transition probability of U particle into the electron. He calculated the probability of U particles (presently known as charged pi-mesons) breaking down into electrons and neutrinos. Yukawa et. al. also investigated the possibility of the beta decay of nuclei occurring by way of U particles. Sakata’s handwriting is close to block letters and carefully written for easy legibility.
